CHAPTER 6
Beast from Air
Ralph's Adventure!

A sign came down from the adult world, while everybody was sleeping, a dying aviator on a parachute crashed into the island! Since we were all sleeping, we had no idea what was happening. Sam and Eric were so terrified, because while they were outside, away from all the other boys and the tents, they saw the dead man. When they saw him, he was surrounded by an inferno of flames, and the fabric of the parachute made a loud noise as it was blown open, like a roar of a beast! They describe it as a huge furry beast, a leviathan with wings, teeth, claws, and it nearly got them! I think that the huge group of boys were kind of enthusiastic, that they could go hunt the beast, I don't think they understand the true danger that they are in! I mean wooden sticks against the beast! This whole affair with the beast seems interminable!

Now as to the question if I think that there's a beast at all, I'm not too sure. I know that some people said there was, but everybody seems to say something different, and its hard to believe the description of a huge terrible beast that can't catch Sam, or Eric! Sam and Eric were probley flailing around, while the beast was chasing them. I personally haven't seen the beast, and even though we went to the beast's lair, its no where to be found. The reasonable explanation is that the beast does not exist at all, or it comes from the water. There's enough reasonable proof that there might be, or might not be a beastie! I'm positive that I'm the strongest leader on the island, I don't think anyone else could be leader but Jack, and he is up to his own personal desires, I'm not even sure he wants to be rescued. I would be waxy if jack somehow became leader! I seem to somehow always get embroiled with Jack! Under my leadership, we are able to do something, but if I'm not leader, we may mess up badly, or become savages!
