CHAPTER 10 ENTRY

LORD OF THE FLIES
CHAPTER 10
Simon’s Regrets

On the morrow of the next day, the very day after I was killed by the true horrible beast, the unreal darkness of human nature, Piggy and Ralph had a discussion about my death. This is what I thought about it. I believe that Ralph was right; everybody should take responsibility for my death. I know the future of humanity on this island looks bleak, but it’s no use to pretend it didn’t happen.

Now what’s truly wrong is that Jack Is the chief of the boys in this island. Jack is a truly cruel person. He is helping to convert everybody into savages, and is taking sadistic pleasure in doing so, an example of this, is when he beat up Wilfred for no good reason. He’s completely blinded by viciousness and bloodlust, but he’s smart enough to pretend that I was the beast in disguise, a truly rotten lie.

What are also disgusting are the dishonorable plans that Jack, Maurice and Roger are scheming. Imagine taking Piggie’s glasses, ruining his vision, while Ralph would let them him use the fire anyway. All Jack’s ideas are horrid; creating the lord of the flies was one of the worst. And to believe that Maurice and Roger are helping him, this is a dark day of humanity.

Now even worse, was Jack’s raid on Ralph tribe? The boys all voted Ralph to be chief. Dishonorably, they ignore their promises, and separated into Jack’s tribe. But even that wasn’t enough, under Jack’s leadership they raided Ralph’s tribe and cruelly stole Piggie’s glasses.

Now in conclusion, it seems that all the horrific events that are slowly unfolding, are the product of the icon of evil known as the Lord of the Flies. In the end it looks like everything has been lost to the darkness in everybody’s heart.
