Chapter 11 Entry

Lord of the Flies

Chapter 11

Castle Rock

My opinion

1.Piggy requested that Ralph blow the conch, the talisman of order, to call an assembly for only them to decide what to do about the theft of his glasses.
2.Piggy said that although Jack is stronger, and more athletic than him, although Jack has no ass-mar, even though Jack is a villain, he should return his glasses to do the right thing, because right’s right.
3.Ralph wanted their small tribe to look clean and presentable when they met Jack.
4.When Ralph’s tribe approached castle rock, Roger and the savages stopped them and challenged them.
5.When Jack returned he brought with him a slaughtered sow, he was hunting.
6.Ralph got mad at Jack and called him a thief for pinching Piggie’s specs, an abominable crime.
7.After the short scrimmage, Jack ordered his troops (savages) to tie Sam and Eric up.
8.While Piggy, the smartest one on the island debated about common decency, Roger took the delirious liberty truculently of chucking rocks down upon Ralph’s tribe. Piggy was quite pleased for the cessation of the rock throwing, until the final rock fell.

Under this blog, I hereby accuse the lord of the flies for the unreasonable slaughter of our good friend Piggy. The reason is quite simple, although the lord of the flies is just a figurehead of pure evil; it’s the symbol of cruelty on the island, so to put this in the most uncomplicated or unsophisticated terms. I mean that since evil is not something that you can blame, the symbol of evil, in this case the lord of the flies is basically evil. This form of evil was in all the boys of the island, but surely and quickly overrode any argument, except two boys by the name of Piggy and Ralph. Eventually it destroyed Piggy too. Some example of this complex form of evil, which surely must exist in every human being, was the scenario where the boys, overcome with overall hatred and bloodlust due to Jack’s “dance” slaughtered Simon. Another occurrence was when Jack and his small gang of sinister “biguns” killed a female sow, and thought it was funny how a spear got stuck up her ass. I believe that for sure savagery and bloodlust were key components in the death of poor Piggy. Considering how it also happened to Simon, I assume it’s quite fair to accuse this quite barbaric form of an enemy of ultimately murdering Piggy. So for the sake of argument, I have to say that this quite confusing form of evil, also called the lord of the flies must have been the leading factor in the death of Ralph’s and hopefully our good friend Piggy.
